The contemporary French Art exhibition "Short cuts between reality and fiction: Installations and Paintings from the FNAC Collection" at the Bass Museum of Art, in Miami Beach from November 3, 2005 to January 29, 2006. This exhibition was very successful with more than 10.000 visitors, and provided the FFFA important local and international exposure, notably during Art Basel / Miami Beach Fair in December of 2005.
The exhibition commemorating the centennial of Jules Verne’s death: "Journey through the imagination of Jules Verne" at the Broward County Library in Fort Lauderdale from November 18, 2005 to January 21, 2006. This exhibition included film series as well as educational activities. The Broward County Library attracts 1 million visitors annually.
The first French Film Festival "France Cinema Miami" organized by French Feeling Films and the Alliance Française of Miami from November 11 to November 13, 2005. This first festival was a great success with 82%sales on screenings at the Cocowalk cinema.
In 2006, FFFA supported the international colloquium "Situating French, 20th and 21st century French and Francophone Studies" which took place from March 30 to April 1st. It was organized by the Department of foreign languages and literatures of the University of Miami and sponsored by the cultural services of the French Consulate of Miami as well as the FFFA. More than 220 professors and academics of French contemporary language and culture participated in this exceptional three-day colloquium.
