Francophonie Month : March
In partnership with the OIF (Organisme international de la francophonie) as the month of March, "le mois de la francophonie", is once again celebrating the French language all over the world. This year, the Francophonie week will take place from March 18 to March 26, offering a great occasion to express the diversity and richness of the French language, including in Florida, through contests, conferences, lectures, concerts and films.
- "Dis-moi dix mots"
The office of Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States, in partnership with the Consulates of Canada and Haïti, launched a Florida-wide contest entitled "Dis-moi dix mots" for all Elementary and High school students, as well as for the first time Universities and Colleges in Florida. The contest is designed to stimulate French language and culture by using ten selected French words, dedicated this year to the French language on the Internet. The awards will be given during the Conference held on March 22, 2017 at Florida International University.
- Congrès de la culture française
From March 9-11, the 65th edition of the Congrès de la culture française took place in Orlando. More than 900 students from over 40 Floridian schools participated in various competitions during the Congrès expressing their French language talents through impromptu speeches, poetry recitation, skits, quiz games and theatre plays. This year’s theme was "fairy tales".

- Conference at FIU focusing on French Language in the Digital World - March 22
The winners of the contest "Dis-moi dix mots" will be announced by the Consul general of France in Miami, Mr. Clément Leclerc, on March 22, on the occasion of a public conference on "French language in the digital world" at the Florida International University, in partnership with the Haitian and the Canadian consulates (FIU campus Modesto Maidique / Room 160 SASC, from 1-3pm). Professors, experts, authors, and journalists from Haiti, Canada, Switzerland, and the USA, will make exciting presentations about the evolution of the French language through social networks and new technologies.
- "ReadCaribbean"- March 25
On March 25, the Miami Book Fair Year-Round program "ReadCaribbean" (presented by Miami Dade College) will host a roundtable discussion entitled "Contest Histories : Portraying the Complexity of the Carribbean’s Past"/ "Histoires contestées : rettracer la complexité du passé des Caraibes" at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex. This roundtable will be headed by French-speaking Carribbean authors : François Loe-Mie (Guyana), José Lewest-Stonko (Guadeloupe), Margaret Papillon (Haiti), and Emmelie Prophète (Haiti).
