Acta Non Verba [fr]
The Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami presents a solo show of the work of Marielle Plaisir. It it the first time that a Guadeloupean artist is exhibited in the history of the museum. Her solo show, “Acta Non Verba”, provides an overview of the Caribbean collective imaginary. The common thread of the exhibition lies in the will of transmitting, in the embodied memory of a specific culture and identity. This is achieved through a carefully curated selection of drawings, portraits, paintings, tapestries and one video representative of the artist’s thematic narrative, as well as an ethereal installation of paper mache dresses suspended in midair.
