Support "The Hermione 2015", a symbol of liberty and Franco-american friendship [fr]
In 1780 the new French Frigate of Liberty "the Hermione" sailed across the Atlantic bringing to Boston the Marquis de Lafayette sent by the King of France in support of America ’s fight for independence.
It took 16 years to construct the exact replica of the Hermione, but one of the world’s most remarkable wooden tall ship is now getting ready to retrace its famous visit to the iconic ports of the war of Independence from April to July 2015.
After a 27 days journey retracing a turning point of American history, the Hermione’s crew will soon put in Yorktown port (VA), May 5-7.
To celebrate this page of Franco-American history, the Florida Friends of Hermione-Lafayette organize an exhibit: "Lafayette and the Hermione" at the Collier County Museum in Naples April 15 to May 28, 2015. More information available on http://www.colliermuseums.com/events
To participate in one of the official ceremonies of the Hermione adventure such as the Yorktown Gala on May 20 or the Philadelphia Reenactment Dinner on June 26, please refer to the official website http://hermione2015.com.
