A Jazz festival celebrating Miami’s roots [fr]

The 3rd "Miami Nice Jazz Festival" announces a stellar lineup for its upcoming edition that celebrates its international essence as well as its Miami’s roots.

From November 1st to November 23rd, Miami Nice Jazz Festival will offer a stage of world-class artists and emerging stars. This month-long festival will bring jazz to Miami’s finest and most celebrated landmarks in a perfect fusion of music and history.

This year’s roster of performers includes: Cuban jazz pianist Roberto Fonseca, Brazilian star Bebel Gilberto, Creole trumpeter Etienne Charles, Spanish flamenco singer Diego El Cigala, French-American band Dinner At The Thompsons, French DJ Oil (BBE /Blue Note), The Miami Leading Ladies of Jazz, The Hot Sardines, The French Horn and more...

The Miami Nice Jazz Festival, which is a partnership between Sister Cities Nice, France and Miami, Florida is part of “French Weeks Miami”, an initiative launched by the French-American Chamber of Commerce of Miami in collaboration with the Consulate General of France.

The Miami Nice Jazz Festival is the first and only jazz festival of such international significance to come to South Florida states Philippe Pautesta-Herder, one of the organizer of the festival.

The main events are planned on:
November 1st:

  • Pianist Roberto Fonseca, opening set by The French Horn - Olympia
    Theater - Downtown Miami
  • Etienne Charles at South Miami Dade Cultural Art Center - South Miami

November 2nd: The French Horn’s Jazz brunch at National Hotel - SOBE

November 8th: The Miami Leading Ladies of Jazz with Nicole Yarling, Kate Reid and

  • Wendy Peterson conducted by the South Florida Jazz Orchestra
    Olympia - Downtown Miami

November 9th: The French Horn’s Jazz brunch at National Hotel - SOBE

November 11th: “In the lobby lounge... Jazz” at the Olympia Theater - Downtown

November 14th: Allan Harris Band - Cabaret series at South Miami Dade Cultural Art
