  • The CNED, a key player in French teaching abroad

As the third provider of French teaching abroad with over 25 000 members in 2012, the CNED is an active participant in international linguistic and educational cooperation in teaching French.

  • The CNED, a partner of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Under an agreement signed in 2010 with the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the CNED offers to facilitate opportunities for residents abroad, French or not, attending a local school to follow a complementary distance learning program in French.
The program has already been tested in Brazil and the United Kingdom.

This proposal is part of the action plan to support French education abroad, presented on August 28th, 2013 by Helene Conway-Mouret, Minister Delegate for French Nationals Abroad, attached to the French Minister of Foreign Affairs.

This approach provides a solution to the needs of many French students abroad, but also to many foreigners wishing to have access to education in French in addition to their education in a local school.

  • An additional program in French

This program is available for students from Kindergarten to High School. It focuses on three core disciplines in accordance with French curriculum.
A transcript and a certificate of attendance will be provided by the CNED when leaving or graduating from the program. An equivalent level of the French educational system can be requested from the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of France in the country of residence.
