Joëlle Kem Lika making an artistic splash at Art Fusion
The home of over 70 museums and galleries, the Wynwood Art District is one of Miami’s most popular art hotspots. One of those galleries, the Art Fusion Galleries, recently gave a very welcoming « Bonjour » to French native Joëlle Kem Lika, on July 1, so that she may exhibit her contemporary art collection, My Surf Dreaming, on display until December 16 of this year.
Joëlle Kem Lika, born in 1955, in Lacanau, France, moved to Paris at the age of 20 and actually started her professional career in psychology, as a therapist, before permanently leaving the profession to fully devote herself to her love of art, at the age of 51.
This collection, which features nine paintings of various women, all surfers, shows them off using an Aboriginal style that creates the overall feeling of the paintings.
Using three themes of research (contemporary styled flowers, abstracts inspired by skies, and surf dreaming), Joëlle Kem Lika is able to create movement from abstract, detailed shapes, essentially bringing her artwork to life.
Aborigine art inspires Joëlle Kem Lika to create her impressionistic paintings, which range from acrylics on canvas, to paper, Indian ink, and watercolors. Joëlle Kem Lika’s love of life, Creation, and the forces associated with them, all serve as inspirational factors for her work, as well.
Joëlle Kem Lika’s work is not only represented here in Miami, FL, but also in cities such as New York, London, and Rome, so she is internationally recognized for her artistic prowess. She is one of 50 selected artists exhibited each quarter by the Art Fusion Galleries, too, which is particularly known for its integration of emerging to mid-career artists.
Joëlle Kem Lika is the owner of three galleries in France, located in Paris, Burgundy, and Aquitane, with the first two named the La Lila galleries and the last one named Joëlle Kem Lika’s Work Shop.
One must also note that from 7pm to 11pm on October 12, will take place The Opening Reception, more information about this event is to come.
Some of Joëlle Kem Lika’s other known collections include Burning Heart, and Bruissements Charnels (Carnal Rustlings), all unique, with bright, bold colors that are further emphasized with broad brush strokes and dynamic compositions.
