Red Chemistry Inc. promotes European short films
For the past seven years, Red Chemistry Inc., a non-for-profit organization, has been working to bring European movies in Miami.
Whether it be through school programs, festivals, or workshops, students in cities such as Miami Beach, Little Havana and Hialeah have been able to acquire unique cinematic experience.
On June 6, 7 and 14, Red Chemistry will be presenting its annual European Film Festival, where both Spanish and French films will be shown.
Starting at 8 p.m., on June 6 and 7, the Spanish Short Film Night will showcase several films, ranging from fiction to animation, and it is titled Selección de Cortometrajes de la Comunidad de Madrid (Selection of Short Films from the Madrid Community), for day one, and the Selección de Cortometrajes de la Escuela de Cine de Madrid (Selection of Films from the Film School of Madrid), for day two.
One week later, on June 14, at 6:30 p.m., French short films will be shown along with some Spanish ones, as well.
The two French films that have been chosen for the festival are Louis Aubert’s Château Rotschild and Charlotte Michel’s Sunflower.
The Spanish Short Film Night is to be held at the Centro Cultural Español de Miami, while the one for the French and Spanish films on the 14th of June is to be held at the Key Biscayne Community Center.
Red Chemistry Inc. has programs for students at the elementary, middle and high school levels, and some students in Miami have already watched all of the nominated films in the festival and have also voted for the winning film, which is to be screened on June 14.
The winner will be announced by Red Chemistry’s president, Isabelle Lambert.
Feel free to come with friends and family and enjoy a wonderful night of European culture through cinematography. These events are free and open to the public.
