Evaluations of French language proficiency: opening of new sessions

As of today, the Alliance francaise of Sarasota is the only official exam center in Florida that offers evaluations of French language proficiency. The tests are based on the same levels as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2).

The tests (TEF and TCF) are reliable measurements for determining proficiency and are only valid for a period of time.

Test de connaissance du français -TCF

JPEGThe TCF, designed by the CIEP (Centre International d’Études Pédagogiques) and accredited by the French Ministry of Education, is a French language proficiency test for non-native speakers who need their level of proficiency certified for professional, academic or personal reasons.

The TCF is an 80 question, multiple-choice exam that covers reading comprehension, command of grammatical structures and listening comprehension (1.5 hours). The full exam also includes optional written and oral examination portions, which are 1.45 hours and 15 minutes respectively.

The TCF has adaptations for immigration purposes and the Alliance Française of Sarasota offers the TCF Québec examination, and the TCF ANF (Test de Connaissance du Français pour l’accès à la nationalité française).

TCF Québec and ANF includes two sections: listening comprehension (30 minutes), and spoken 15 minutes).

Next sessions organized in Fort Lauderdale.
