Fall In Love Again with Amélie on Eurocinema this fall
French Movie Classics Now Available For the First Time On Demand
Beginning October, Eurocinema will debut some of the most loved and talked about award-winning screen gems from France.
“We’re excited to offer on demand TV viewers the chance to experience for the first time, some of France’s best cinema, or revisit these wonderful films, enjoy them again, and perhaps, even share with their friends and family,” said Sebastien Perioche, president/CEO, Eurocinema.
Beginning this October, classic French films available on demand on Eurocinema include:
- THE CLOSET, (LES PLACARDS)
French w/English subtitles. Gerard Depardieu (DIAMOND 13, LA VIE EN ROSE), Daneil Auteuil (CACHE, TO PAINT OR MAKE LOVE) star in a warmly engaging comedy that shows how one little white lie can change everything!
A dull and lonely accountant working at a condom factory, Francois meekly endures office jokes and backroom whispers that he’s about to be fired ... usually instigated by his loutish coworker Felix.
But that all changes when a rumor about him spreads around the office! This funny falsehood becomes the catalyst that sends his life on a turn for the better!
- THE CHORUS, (LES CHORISTES)
Nominated for two Academy awards and winner of 12 film awards. Starring Gerard Jugnot (PARIS 36), Francois Berleand (TELL NO ONE, TRANSPORTER), Kad Merad (J’INVENTE RIEN), Jean-Baptiste Maunier (HELLPHONE).
Inspired by the 1947 film LA CAGE AUX ROSSIGNOIS, a wildly successful orchestra conductor Pierre Morhange returns home when his mother dies.
He recollects his childhood inspirations through the pages of a diary kept by his old music teacher Clément Mathieu. Back in the late ’40s, little Pierre is the badly behaved son of single mother Violette. He attends a dreary boarding school presided over by strict headmaster Rachin. New teacher Mathieu brightens up the place and organizes a choir, leading to the discovery of Pierre’s musical talents.
In November, Eurocinema will proudly present the Oscar-nominated feature AMÉLIE, starring Audrey Tatou.
- AMÉLIE, (LE FABULEUX DESTIN D’AMÉLIE POULAIN)
French w/English subtitles. Nominated for five Academy Awards and winner of 53 film festival awards. A painfully shy waitress working at a tiny Paris café, Amélie (Audrey Tatou) makes a surprising discovery and sees her life drastically changed for the better!
From then on, Amélie dedicates herself to helping others find happiness...in the most delightfully unexpected ways! Also stars Dominique Pinon (ALIEN:RESURECTION), Matthieu Kassovitz (MUNICH).
